"The creative power of God inspires awe. I'm filled with reverent wonder as I contemplate it. To think that he spoke and the worlds came into being! In contrast to God, I work with raw materials that he created. My creativity is derived from his. I put the wrapping paper and ribbon on his packages. I praise you, Lord, for your incredible imagination and creativity. I thank you that I can, in a very small way, imitate it."

If someone had told me 5 years ago that I would eventually develop a passion for photography, I would have laughingly dismissed the entire notion as preposterous.

Yet...here I am... scratching my head in bewilderment. To say I am passionate about photography is an understatement. In fact, my optical equipment now feels like a vital organ, an extension of my eyes and brain competing for the same care. Confiscate my camera and you've dismembered me (which is why I have a back-up "vital organ" ; >).

It all began in May of 2001 (at the age of 44) when I purchased my first SLR. Shortly after learning basic technical skills, I entered photography competitions to push the envelope of creativity.

Many awards later... the gratification, recognition and acknowledgement of my peers have been a catalyst in my quest to achieve excellence in this field. My journey has only begun...I anxiously await to see where it will lead me.

I live in Connecticut with my husband and have 4 daughters and several grandchildren. Although Ct is not known for it's strong rural character, I am within a few hours of beautiful Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. I currently shoot with a Nikon D200 and Canon 10D digital camera.

In seeking spiritual connection and beauty in the ordinary, I hope to capture light's essence and bring a unique perspective to an otherwise mundane scene.  Rare moments indelibly inscribed on photographic materials...this is what makes photography exciting and personal to me.

In closing, I'd like to humbly thank the Creator (for his inspiration and creativity); my family (Thank you Ben, for your unwavering support); the wonderful photographers I have met along the way (your selflessness, knowledge and honesty has enriched my life) and friends (for the encouragement). Without these gifts, I would not be on this privileged journey. Thank you for wanting to get to know me a little better.
