Why is matting important?
Matting a photograph with acid free materials provides three important
benefits:
~The matboard creates an air space between the photograph and
the glass. This breathing room keeps moisture away from the
the photo and is important to maintain and extend the life of your
print.
~Non-acidic materials prevents yellowing and discoloration of your
print. We use museum quality 100% cotton rag matboards. No
adhesive touches your photo...artwork can be removed easily and
safely at any time.
~Once the photograph is framed and displayed, matting helps
separate the photograph from its surroundings and gives it its
own unique space in addition to providing stronger visual
interest.
